The Strategic Initiative for Developing Capacity in Ethical Review (SIDCER) & the Forum for Ethical Review Committees in the Asian and Western Pacific Region (FERCAP), in short, the SIDCER-FERCAP one of the recognition criteria outlines that:
- Structure & Composition of EC/IRB – structure, composition and skills of the EC and staff are appropriate to the amount and nature of research reviewed.
- In particular, section-a.3: Training Requirements of EC/IRB Members: EC needs to state and observe the provisions available for its members to receive introductory and continuous education, mandates Ec/IRB members to get trained and certified on the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH) – Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training and certification is one of the Ethics Board/IRB.
In purview of above, Research & Innovation Unit (IRB Secretariat), MECRIT successfully organized and conducted 5 Days training and certification of IRB Members on:
- ICG-GCP
- Research Integrity
- IRB Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Hands-on KRIES operational use
The training was conducted at RKPO Green Resort extension at Gangtey, Phobjikha, Wangdue.
